Welcome to fourth grade!
Students will explore history through the eyes of colonists and our Founding Fathers, as we learn about life in the 13 colonies and the events that led up to the creation of our country. Nonfiction text, historical fiction, artwork and poetry will be used to study this rich time period.
Our year long study of Leo Lionni will encourage students to create artwork and illustrations with original collage and mixed media. Writing will be inspired by Lionni's fables and descriptive language. Students will even write their own version of one of Lionni's books!
Rocks, minerals, ecosystems, and waves! Learn about wavelengths and the processes that shape our earth in science this year. Not only will students do many hands on experiences, like opening a geode, they will explore these topics through literature, art and poetry.
Get ready to design a hotel using multiplication and be the boss of a movie theater using division. Sound like fun? All you have to do is make sure you know your multiplication facts. Study, practice, learn!
